Reiki Energy Healing

Reiki is a gentle, hands-on practice that channels universal life energy to restore harmony and vitality. Clients often describe it as deeply soothing — a quiet space where the mind stills and the spirit rebalances. Reiki can help ease stress, support emotional well-being, and complement other healing therapies.

  • Gentle, non-invasive energy healing experience designed to promote relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being. Reiki is distinct from massage or medical treatment in that it moves life force energy or “chi” to support the body’s natural healing processes, helping to relieve stress, tension, and emotional blockages. Reiki treatments can be used to complement ongoing medical treatments. The Reiki space is a calm, quiet space with soft lighting, soothing music, and a comfortable massage table. The environment is designed to help the client feel safe, relaxed, and grounded. Clients remain fully clothed in loose, comfortable attire and may lie down or sit depending on preference.

Clients may set a simple intention such as reducing stress. Practitioner channels energy through gentle touch or by holding hands slightly above the body and moving from head to feet to facilitate energy flow. Clients may experience warmth, tingling, heaviness, calm breathing, or emotional release, or a deep sense of relaxation.

Sarah Fenico, LMT

Sarah has spent the better part of her life on a quest for self-actualization. Starting in her mid-teens, she began seeking a better way to feel at one with herself, others, and the universe. Getting regular massages and Reiki treatments has helped her develop a deep groundedness in her body and clarity in her mind. This way of feeling prompted her to pursue a career in massage therapy and become attuned in Reiki.

Sarah finds it incredibly rewarding to help others transform themselves through massage and energy work as she has been. She strongly believes in the universal life force that connects all beings and loves the subtle yet powerful healing energy that hands-on work provides. Sarah’s massage sessions are a lovely balance of relaxation and therapeutic massage. Her techniques are rooted in traditional Swedish massage and include flares of additional modalities such as trigger point, deep tissue, myofascial release, craniosacral, and occasional and very light mobilization and stretching.

Sarah’s Reiki/energy work sessions are deeply relaxing, restorative and unique to each individual. Both her massage and Reiki sessions are steeped in deep acceptance, care, and loving-kindness for all of her clients. Sarah graduated from Everyday Bliss Institute for Holistic Well-being in March of 2019 and is a Reiki Master.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Please create or login to an account on Mindbody to book an appointment. Alternatively, you can call or email the Open Door Movement Studio and we can help you book a session.

  • Not all types of massage are appropriate for all conditions. If you have a specific concern, it is important for you to discuss that with your therapist before scheduling an appointment. Please contact us with you specific questions.

    info@opendoormovementstudio.com

    (414) 563-7341.

When you arrive for appointment, you will be asked to fill out a health history form. Be sure to let your massage therapist know if you have any injuries, medical conditions, or allergies that could affect the massage. This will help them tailor the massage to fit your needs and ensure that it is safe for you.

  • Bodywork will likely just make you feel worse. To avoid passing illness to our massage therapists and other patrons, we would request that you please reschedule your appointment, even if you are giving less than a 24-hour notice. If you are feeling unwell, let us know as soon as possible.

  • If you need to reschedule your appointment, you can log into your Mindbody account and make changes anytime. For late notice cancellations, please call or email us directly as soon as possible.

    info@opendoormovementstudio.com

    (414) 563-7341.

Cancellations without 24 hours notice may result in a partial or full charge for your session, as that time has been set aside specifically for you.

  • When you arrive for your appointment, you will be asked to fill out a health history form. This is to help your massage therapist understand any health conditions or concerns you may have. After filling out the form, you and your massage therapist discuss your health history, past or current injuries, chronic pain, or areas of concern or focus based on the form you completed.

The therapist will keep your medical history and personal information confidential.

You will then be asked to disrobe/undress alone to your comfort level and lie down on the massage table under a sheet.  Your massage therapist will be outside the massage room as you disrobe and will knock quietly to ask if you are ready for them to enter and begin treatment.

  • You don’t necessarily need to shower right before your massage, but we do ask that you come to your appointments clean. With your permission, we may utilize different essential oils that may be indicated for your massage wants and needs. Keep in mind that you may still have these oils on your skin when leaving your appointment.

  • This depends on your comfort level and the type of massage you are going to receive. For a Reiki Session, you may be asked to leave some or all of your clothing on. For Therapeutic Massage, many people prefer to disrobe fully when they receive a massage, while others prefer to keep all or some of their undergarments on. It’s completely up to you and you are encouraged to undress to your level of comfort.

That being said, undergarments can sometimes get in the way of the massage. Women usually remove their bras so bra straps do not get in the way of back and shoulder massage areas. Massage therapists will accommodate your clothing preferences, if possible.

Licensed massage therapists must ensure that clients are always properly covered by a sheet or towel, private areas will never be exposed, and only the specific areas being massaged will be uncovered. You can always tell your massage therapist if you are uncomfortable about anything including their draping technique.

  • You are encouraged to openly communicate with your massage therapist about your preferences and comfort. If anything needs to be adjusted, or if we are almost (but not quite) getting the right spot, just speak up and let us know right away. We rely on you to help us help you!

Also, it is a myth that massage or other bodywork needs to hurt in order to be effective. Some of the most effective techniques involve very light, gentle touch. Often, too much pressure can cause muscles to tighten further, and detract from the effectiveness of your treatment.

  • You will experience the greatest benefits from your session if you just allow yourself to become quiet and relaxed. This helps you and also helps your massage therapist focus on providing a great massage!

However, definitely communicate with your bodyworker if you feel any pain or discomfort, if you have any concerns during your massage, or if there is anything your massage therapist can do to make you more comfortable.

  • We accept cash, credit or debit cards. A credit or debit card is required to reserve your appointment, however, you are not charged for anything until after the appointment is completed. After your appointment, you can choose another form of payment.

  • Although we do not accept insurance, many plans do reimburse for massage therapy with a doctor’s prescription.

We provide receipts after services are completed which customers can submit to their insurance or health savings plans (HSAs) for reimbursement.

  • Tipping is neither required nor expected but, of course, always appreciated! Our bodyworkers do not depend on tips, but if you would like to leave a tip, simply add the gratuity at checkout.

If you choose not to tip, a great way to show your appreciation is by referring us to your friends and family.
